NHL Allstar Sadness

http://cdn.nhl.com/thrashers/bc/images/Resources/News/08_ASG_logo_411.jpgThe sad reality for me has set in. The NorthWest does not care about the NHL. All around the country the NHL All Star game is being played on national television, or national-northwest. The All Star Game is only on if you have cable and have paid extra for NHL Center Ice. This makes me sad. I just want to cry. The NHL proudly lives on in my heart. One day, we will again have a team in the NorthWest...like back in the day with the Seattle Metropolitans and their beautiful Stanley Cup championship.http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v83/Discrimihater/seametropolitans.gif

1917 was a loooong time ago. The fact that a sports league shut down for a whole season and 99.999999999% of people didn't care is why you have to tune into the Oxygen network or whatever pathetic channel the NHL is on these days. The only thing good about hockey is the shootout.

Love ya bro

Don't give up the dream!

There are more hockey fans in this area than most people think. Lot of Canadians live/work here. Seattle boasts the 6th largest adult recreational hockey league in the U.S. The majority of that league is at the beginner level. There are 4 or 5 other smaller leagues in Seattle.

The former Supersonics (Ackerly?)screwed us buy making sure the remodel of the Key could not accomodate a NHL expansion franchinse. If he couldn't get one he made sure no one else could.

A new arena is a must. Corporate support is questionable.
